Welcome
The Armidale Waldorf School is an independent school offering programs to children from birth until 14 years of age. Our approved NESA curriculum provides children with a high standard of academic education in a beautiful natural setting. It balances their intellectual, moral and artistic development, and is based on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, whose philosophy emphasises the importance of educating the whole person – head, heart and hands.
“Receive the children in reverence; educate them in love; let them go forth in freedom.”
Our Education
The Armidale Waldorf School offers programs to children across four age groups:
Playgroup for 0-3 year-olds, Preschool for 3-5 year-olds, Kindergarten for 5-6 year-olds, and Primary programs – Class 1 for 6-7 year-olds, Class 2 for 7-8 year-olds, Class 3 for 8-9 year-olds, Class 4 for 9-10 year-olds, Class 5 for 10-11 year-olds, Class 6 for 11-12 year-olds, Class 7 for 12-13 year-olds, Class 8 for 13-14 year-olds
Children from Kindergarten to Class 8 are taught French by a dedicated language teacher. Music and art form a major part of the regular curriculum, and children also attend additional classes with specialised art and music teachers.
“Our highest endeavour must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility—these three forces are the very nerve of education.”
This is a creative environment in which every student thrives.
